Organization
The Friends of Boone Trace, Inc. is an incorporated historic preservation, educational and research organization founded in 2012 by three Kentucky citizens with a deep and abiding interest in 18th century Kentucky history; and, specifically, Boone Trace. Marked by the legendary Daniel Boone during the months of March and April 1775, the Trace was the first road ever blazed into Kentucky for the purpose of bringing settlers to what would become the Bluegrass State. It soon became a major migration artery through which poured thousands of settlers into Kentucky and westward.
Mission
Working in cooperation with like-minded organizations, businesses, civic groups, students and citizens, we help to discover, identify, document and disseminate factual information about Boone Trace with the ultimate goal of preserving its remnants and legacy.
