PRIORITY WORK LIST

ALL COUNTIES

1)   Signage for Boone Trace, Wilderness Rd, Lewis & Clark Trail based on HR39 and SR 135 (House and
      Senate Resolutions)
2) Merge BT bicycle route with USBR 21 National Bike Route
3) Promote BT as health initiative of trails (Bike-Ped/ BT“Health Walks”)
4) Begin to prepare for 250th anniversary of the opening of BT in 1775 which will occur in 2025
5) Encourage all cities not currently Trail Towns nor in Main Street Program to become such.
6) Link Trail Towns, Tourism Offices/Museums and/or Main Street Programs for all cities (except Flat Lick)
7) Create hiking club to maintain overland trails
8) Utilize social media (especially FB) and promote   education more
9)   Pursue Boone Trace Scenic Byway status
10) Promote economic benefit of trails

BELL COUNTY
1) Develop overland hiking path Meldrum to Pineville
2) Urge Cumberland Gap National Park to simplify directions for hiker to hike from one side of Gap to the other
3) Pursue placement of statue Daniel Boone on Pyramid Marker at Saddle of Gap

Middlesboro
1) Develop hiking trail along east side of Yellow Creek to Meldrum
2) Develop Ball Cemetery and associated BT/WR

Pineville
1) Develop River Walk
2) Develop Cumberland Ford Park

KNOX COUNTY
1) No other specific priority

Barbourville
1) Link Union College to Lincoln Memorial University, Berea College and Eastern Kentucky University

Flat Lick
1) Promote The “Lick”
2) Promote The Warrior’s Path

LAUREL COUNTY
1) Add Shared Use Path to the planned US 25 Expansion Project which will connect the Wellness
Center/Downtown London to Levi Jackson State Park
2) Preserve Raccoon Spring/Happy Hollow forest
